SpaceX launched the thirteenth integrated test of its Starship system from the Starbase facility in Texas on 24 July 2026. The vehicle, consisting of the Starship upper stage and a Super Heavy V3 booster, lifted off at 17:51 UTC using 33 Raptor engines. During the flight the rocket deployed a batch of twenty next‑generation Starlink V3 satellites at roughly 190 km altitude; the satellites functioned briefly before re‑entering and burning up as planned.

The Starship upper stage performed a controlled re‑entry and achieved an intact splashdown in the Indian Ocean, floating after landing and allowing drones to inspect its heat‑shield, which carries more than 18,000 ceramic tiles. The Super Heavy booster completed a high‑thrust boost‑back burn but experienced a hard splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico. NASA monitored the mission, and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced that a tower‑catch attempt will be pursued on the next flight.
