SpaceX expands Starlink speed and signs $800 million‑monthly Google cloud deal

SpaceX’s satellite‑internet service Starlink has surpassed 12 million active users in more than 160 countries, accounting for over half of the company’s revenue. The firm announced a new generation of V3 satellites that will deliver 10‑20 times the current bandwidth and operate at a lower 350 km orbit, cutting latency in half and aiming for speeds up to 100 times faster than today’s service.

In parallel, SpaceX disclosed a multi‑year agreement with Google under which the tech giant will pay roughly $800 million (about €750 million) each month for access to about 110 000 Nvidia compute components from October 2026 to June 2029. The deal follows a similar arrangement with Anthropic and comes just before SpaceX’s planned Nasdaq IPO at $135 per share, which would value the company at about $1.77 trillion.
