SpaceX IPO Targets Up to $86 B Valuation as Starlink Mobile Service Plans Unfold
SpaceX is preparing a landmark initial public offering that could raise as much as $86 billion, according to its prospectus. The deal is being led by Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, with more than 20 banks participating. Analysts anticipate a 100‑fold increase in the company's AI‑related revenues, projecting $322 billion by 2030. The IPO, if successful, would make founder Elon Musk a potential trillionaire.
In parallel, SpaceX has outlined ambitions to launch a retail Starlink mobile service in the United States. After spending $17 billion on spectrum licences, the company expects the service to first serve remote areas but ultimately compete in urban markets. Analysts caution that SpaceX currently holds only 65 MHz of spectrum versus the 1,020 MHz held by the three major U.S. carriers. "Building a wireless network in saturated markets would be incredibly hard," said New Street Research partner David Barden. "It makes tremendous sense as a starting point for negotiating revenue‑sharing deals," he added.
