SpaceX launches Falcon 9 resupply mission to the ISS
SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 6:33 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The mission, part of SpaceX’s 35th commercial resupply services mission for NASA, carried a Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS).
The rocket’s exhaust plumes, illuminated by sunlight against the predawn sky, created a glowing, jellyfish-like visual phenomenon visible across much of the eastern United States. This effect occurs when sunlight hits spreading exhaust during launches near sunrise or sunset.
The Dragon spacecraft is delivering approximately 6,300 pounds of equipment, supplies, and scientific investigations to the ISS. Notable cargo includes the final set of International Space Station Roll-Out Solar Arrays (IROSAs), which are scheduled for installation this fall. Additionally, the mission carries medical experiments aimed at advancing research in vision restoration, drug testing, and treatments for brain diseases.
