SpaceX stock rises as major institutions disclose massive holdings

SpaceX (SPCX) has seen significant market activity following its June 2026 IPO, which raised $75 billion at a valuation of approximately $1.77 trillion. Recent regulatory filings have revealed massive institutional stakes in the company. Harvard Management Company disclosed a $2.2 billion position, making SpaceX its largest reported U.S. equity holding. Alphabet also holds a substantial stake valued at approximately $94.17 billion, while Nvidia maintains a position worth nearly $21 billion, stemming from its earlier investment in xAI.

Other major institutional investors include the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, with a stake valued at $26.3 billion, and the University of California, which holds roughly $1 billion in shares. The company's stock has recently approached $150 per share, driven by strong Q2 2026 earnings and a record-setting Falcon 9 launch cadence, where two rockets were launched just 38.5 minutes apart.

Beyond aerospace, SpaceX is heavily integrating artificial intelligence. The company recently completed a $60 billion acquisition of AI programming startup Cursor and has announced plans to build massive AI data centers. Elon Musk confirmed that SpaceX will exclusively use Nvidia technology, specifically the Vera Rubin architecture, to power its expanding AI infrastructure, which is expected to grow from 2 GW to nearly 10 GW by the end of 2027.
