SpaceX proposes 32-mile Florida pipeline for Starship fuel
SpaceX subsidiary Coastal Connect Services LLC has filed a request with the Florida Public Service Commission to construct a 32.4-mile, 16-inch natural gas pipeline in Brevard County. The proposed infrastructure is intended to supply methane feedstock for Starship rocket launches at Cape Canaveral.
The pipeline would connect SpaceX facilities to the Florida Gas Transmission interstate system, which is operated by Energy Transfer. By utilizing a dedicated line, the company aims to replace current trucked deliveries with a more efficient and steady supply to support increasing launch frequencies for the Starship program.
In related developments, CEO Elon Musk confirmed ongoing discussions with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing regarding a potential chip plant to supply Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI. Following these reports and positive analyst commentary, SpaceX shares closed 8% higher.
