Elon Musk's xAI Rebrands as SpaceXAI After Merger with SpaceX

Elon Musk’s artificial‑intelligence venture xAI has been officially renamed SpaceXAI, completing its integration into the SpaceX corporate structure. The change, announced on the X platform with a new logo, marks the final step of a February 2026 acquisition that made xAI a wholly‑owned subsidiary of SpaceX, followed by the June 2026 IPO that valued the combined entity at roughly $2.1 trillion and $161 per share.

SpaceXAI now unites SpaceX’s launch and satellite businesses, the X social platform (acquired in 2025), and the Grok AI models under a single brand. Musk has linked the rebrand to an ambitious plan to build orbital data‑center clusters, having filed with the U.S. FCC for permission to launch up to one million satellites that could host AI compute in space. The company is positioning itself as an AI “Neocloud” infrastructure provider, targeting enterprise customers while continuing to develop the Grok‑4.5 model for public use.

Analysts note that the rebrand consolidates Musk’s vertically integrated technology ecosystem and signals a long‑term bet on space‑based AI compute, although the technical feasibility of orbital data centers remains debated.
