SpaceX reinstates Poland in Starlink Roam European travel zone

SpaceX has reversed its decision to exclude Poland from the Starlink Roam European travel zone following intense pressure from Polish government officials. The company had previously announced that accounts registered in Poland would be treated as “Poland-only,” meaning users traveling within Europe would face additional fees and administrative requirements not applied to other European nations.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski announced the reversal, stating that SpaceX responded to his demands and will not treat Polish customers worse than those in other European countries. The dispute escalated after Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski criticized Elon Musk on social media, suggesting that Poland might reconsider its $50 million annual contribution toward funding Starlink services for Ukraine if the perceived discrimination against Polish users continued.

The resolution ensures that Polish Starlink Roam subscribers can use their terminals across the European region without the new restrictions or extra costs that were set to take effect for existing customers in mid-August.
