SpaceX launches classified USSF-385 mission from Vandenberg
SpaceX launched a classified U.S. Space Force mission, designated USSF-385, from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Saturday morning. The Falcon 9 rocket departed from Space Launch Complex 4E, marking the third national security mission conducted by the company from this location in just 16 days.
The specific details regarding the payload, its destination, and its intended activities remain classified. Following standard protocol for national security deployments, SpaceX terminated its public webcast shortly after the first-stage booster successfully landed on the drone ship ‘Of Course I Still Love You’ in the Pacific Ocean.
The booster used for this mission, identified as B1100, completed its tenth successful flight and landing. This launch follows recent classified missions USSF-153 and USSF-259, contributing to a high cadence of defense-related orbital deployments for SpaceX.
