SpaceX sees stock volatility and major share distribution by Valor Equity Partners

SpaceX is experiencing significant market activity following its record-breaking IPO. The company’s stock has shown volatility, trading roughly 28% below its all-time high, driven by high valuations and diverse business narratives spanning reusable rockets, the Starlink satellite network, and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

In a major strategic move, Valor Equity Partners distributed approximately $8.5 billion worth of SpaceX shares directly to its investors rather than selling them on the open market. This in-kind distribution aims to provide liquidity and tax advantages for investors while preventing massive downward pressure on the stock price caused by a large-scale market sale.

Growth prospects remain a central focus for analysts. Wall Street has revised revenue projections upward, particularly regarding AI-related business, with some estimates suggesting significant growth by 2030. Additionally, SpaceX is pursuing ambitious orbital data center projects, though these face challenges regarding launch economics and cost parity with terrestrial facilities. The upcoming 14th Starship test flight is also a key milestone being watched by investors.
