SpaceX to build world's largest commercial spaceport in Louisiana

SpaceX has announced plans to construct the world’s largest commercial spaceport in coastal Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, located south of Pecan Island. The announcement was made during an event in Abbeville attended by Governor Jeff Landry, SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell, and Louisiana economic development officials.

This project is part of a series of major industrial developments in the state, which also include construction of a Meta data center in Holly Ridge and involvement from companies such as Hyundai. Governor Landry, who negotiated a $100 billion deal, noted the significant magnitude of the SpaceX announcement during his address to business leaders and elected officials.
