SpaceX reports $7.8 billion Q2 revenue amid AI and Starlink growth

SpaceX has reported its first quarterly results as a public entity, showing significant growth despite ongoing volatility in its share price. For Q2 2026, the company reported revenues of $7.8 billion, a 92% increase year-on-year, which exceeded analyst expectations. The company's net loss narrowed to $541 million, compared to a $1 billion loss in the previous year.

Growth was heavily driven by the AI segment, which saw revenues reach $2,561 million, a 247% year-on-year increase. This growth is supported by new cloud services agreements and expanded compute capacity. Additionally, the Starlink connectivity segment saw its subscriber base double to 12 million users.

Following its record-breaking June 2026 IPO, which raised $75 billion, SpaceX's stock has experienced significant fluctuations, at one point dropping nearly 50% from its peak before recent rallies. Major institutional investors include the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which holds approximately $26.3 billion in shares, and Harvard University, which maintains a $2.2 billion stake. Elon Musk remains subject to a lock-up period, preventing him from selling his shares until June 12, 2027.
