SpaceX's Starfall program to use rockets for ultra‑fast global cargo

SpaceX announced the Starfall project, demonstrated with a launch on June 23, 2026. A Federal Aviation Administration document outlines two goals: using reusable rockets to move cargo around the world in a fraction of the time required by aircraft, and delivering cargo to and from orbit to support emerging in‑space manufacturing markets.

The service is envisioned for urgent needs such as critical medical supplies, disaster‑relief shipments, and defense logistics, offering an ultra‑fast emergency transport option rather than replacing conventional sea or air freight. Reusability has lowered launch costs, and the program is compared to historic high‑speed transport concepts like the Concorde, but with a distinct customer base focused on government, defense, and specialized industrial users.
