Spain advances industrialized construction and robotics

The construction sector in Spain and Europe is increasingly adopting industrialized construction to address long timelines, unpredictable costs, and labor shortages. This model focuses on the mass production of modules and components to improve speed, efficiency, and sustainability.

In Andalusia, the creation of the Advanced and Industrialized Construction Cluster of Andalusia (CAI) aims to accelerate this transformation by fostering digitalization, innovation, and ecological transition. Regional efforts in Almería are also integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) and artificial intelligence to enhance project planning and productivity.

Technological advancements are a key driver of this shift. The upcoming FIMMA + Maderalia 2026 exhibition in Valencia will feature an Industrial Robotics Area for Wood Housing Construction. This area will showcase automated processes, including demonstrations by the German company Hundegger, which will present its ROBOT-Compact 650 system for structural wood machining.
