Spain advances industrialized‑building projects for Madrid health centre and Barcelona preschool

The Community of Madrid has allocated €16.1 million to construct the fourth health centre in Rivas‑Vaciamadrid’s Barrio de la Luna. Built with an industrialised prefabrication system, the facility will serve about 17,200 residents and is slated for completion within a year, part of a regional plan that includes two other centres totalling €42.4 million.

In Barcelona, the municipal preschool La Mar on Barceloneta is being expanded using a lightweight wooden, industrialised construction method. The addition of roughly 120 m² will raise the school’s capacity from 63 to 100 places, creating two new rooms that are expected to be ready by 14 September. The approach reduces on‑site work, construction time, waste and carbon emissions, and the regional health authority noted that “la obra comenzará en las próximas semanas.”
