Spain advances multiple solar and wind energy projects
Several renewable energy projects have been advanced in Spain through recent administrative and environmental processes. In the third week of September, the Official State Gazette (BOE) published details for four projects involving 140 MW of photovoltaic capacity and 56 MW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Key developments include a 114 MW solar plant in Cáceres promoted by Statkraft, and a 1,600 kW self-consumption solar plant named ‘PS Palaudàries’ in Barcelona promoted by Delta Renovables. Additionally, Iberdrola has requested authorization for a 35 MW BESS project in Palencia to hybridize with its existing solar plant.
In Galicia, the Xunta has initiated a joint environmental assessment for two wind farm projects, Nesa Monte Arca Norte and Nesa Monte Arca Sur, located in A Estrada and Cuntis. Promoted by Nesa Vento Galego, the two facilities are expected to provide a combined capacity of 40 MW using six Nordex N175 wind turbines.
