Spain allocates over €570 million in agricultural aid programs

The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will transfer €494.5 million to 249,376 farmers in early September to subsidise fertilizer purchases. The aid, part of the government’s response to rising fertilizer costs linked to the Middle‑East conflict, provides €92.5 per hectare for irrigated crops and €38.33 for rain‑fed crops. About 9,362 eligible recipients are still completing paperwork, while 1,290 farmers have declined the support.

The Generalitat Valenciana has opened three aid calls totalling €79 million to support the region’s primary sector. €50 million is earmarked for modernising farms and livestock operations, €26.7 million for replanting land damaged by the recent DANA floods, and €2 million to sustain activity in the Huerta de Valencia. Application deadlines run from 12 August to 17 September, depending on the programme.
