Spain and Italy set for padel finals at Mediterranean Games

Padel competition at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto has reached its final stages, with Spain securing a gold medal in the women's category. The Spanish duo of Patty Llaguno and Lucia Sainz, alongside Nuria Rodríguez and Jimena Velasco, have ensured the gold will remain in Spain following their semifinal victories.

In the men's division, a final between Spain and Italy has been set. The Italian pair of Flavio Abbate and Alvaro Montiel defeated compatriots Marco Cassetta and Simone Iacovino with a score of 7-6 and 6-1. Montiel and Abbate will face the Spanish duo of Jose Antonio Garcia Diestro and David Gala, who advanced after defeating the Portuguese brothers Nuno and Miguel Deus 7-5, 7-5.

The mixed doubles category has also progressed to a final featuring Portugal and Italy.
