Spain to transition to winter time on October 25

Spain will transition from daylight saving time to winter time on the morning of Sunday, October 25, 2026. In mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, clocks will be set back one hour from 03:00 to 02:00. In the Canary Islands, the adjustment will occur at 02:00, moving the time back to 01:00.

This seasonal change, regulated by European Union Directive 2000/84/CE, allows for an extra hour of sleep on the night of October 24. However, it will result in earlier sunsets and more daylight during the early morning hours. The winter schedule is expected to remain in effect until the next transition in March 2027.

While most modern electronic devices such as smartphones and computers update automatically, manual adjustments will be required for analog clocks and other non-connected devices.
