Spain and Uruguay see significant real estate developments
In Spain, the Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) has approved a 73.2 million euro loan for Lagoom Living to develop a major affordable housing project in Sevilla. The development, which involves a total investment of 143 million euros, will provide 843 accommodations, including 691 protected units. This project is part of a broader trend in the Spanish housing market; data from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda shows that Spain completed 5,215 protected housing units in the first quarter of 2026, marking a 14-year record for that period.
In Uruguay, the real estate developer Kopel Sánchez has inaugurated Cosmopolitan, a 30 million USD mixed-use project in Montevideo. Located in Parque Rodó, the development combines permanent residences with units for traditional and temporary rentals. Approximately 20% of the property buyers are Argentine nationals.
