Spain and USA women's teams prepare for October friendlies

The Spanish and United States women's national football teams are preparing for two friendly matches scheduled for October 10 in Washington and October 14 in Philadelphia. These matches serve as preparation for the 2027 World Cup.

Spain's squad, led by Alexia Putellas, faces several notable absences due to injury or unavailability, including Aitana Bonmatí, Vicky López, and Mariona Caldentey. To bolster the roster, Alba Redondo, Natalia Ramos, Ainhoa Marín, and Ornella Vignola have been called up.

The United States squad, announced by coach Emma Hayes, features the return of Naomi Girma and Sam Coffey, alongside several newcomers including Trinity Byars, Pietra Tordin, and Evelyn Shores. The US roster also includes top NWSL scorers such as Ashley Sanchez, Sophia Wilson, Trinity Rodman, and Trinity Byars.
