Spain approves 59 billion euro youth action plan through 2028

The Spanish Government has approved a youth action plan through 2028, mobilizing approximately 59.2 billion euros to support education, employment, health, and housing for young people. This plan represents a 79% increase in funding compared to the previous cycle.

In Andalusia, the regional government is implementing several labor initiatives. The T-Acompañamos program has allocated 92 million euros to provide training and job placement services for over 20,000 unemployed individuals aged 18 to 30. Additionally, new measures for the self-employed include social security subsidies for new businesses and an ‘inverted flat rate’ to encourage generational business succession.

Efforts to improve labor inclusion for people with disabilities are also underway through initiatives by Fundación ONCE and the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Andalusia, focusing on bridging the gap between available talent and business needs. Meanwhile, the self-employed association ATA is calling for structural reforms, including automatic unemployment benefits for those ceasing activity and zero-fee periods for new entrepreneurs.
