Spain approves 903 hectares of new vineyards and €1.5k subsidies for shared farms in 2026

The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) announced that 903 hectares will be authorized for new vineyard plantings in 2026. The area was allocated among seven priority groups, allowing 100 % of the requested surface for young viticulturists and small‑medium operations. In total, 55.7 % of the land goes to small and medium farms, 16.4 % to young growers, and 3.9 % to newcomers. By region, Castilla‑La Mancha receives 653 ha, Catalonia 67 ha and Extremadura 38 ha.

Separately, MAPA published the call for direct aid to agricultural holdings with shared ownership for 2026. The scheme provides up to €1,500 per eligible farm, funded from a €1.798 million budget, to help cover Social Security contributions. Applications are to be submitted electronically between 24 June and 14 July 2026.
