Spain auctions seized drug trafficking jewelry

Spain’s Ministry of Health, through the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs, has launched an electronic public auction of 158 lots of gold jewelry and precious stones. These items were seized from drug trafficking operations.

The auction, hosted on the specialized portal Escrapalia, features items primarily made of 18-karat gold, including bracelets, signet rings, chains, brooches, and earrings. Some pieces also contain precious stones such as emeralds and diamonds. Bidding starts as low as 10 euros, and the auction remains active until September 17.

Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into society to mitigate the damages caused by drug addiction and trafficking. Specifically, the funds will support drug prevention programs, assistance for drug dependents, and social and labor insertion initiatives.
