Spain begins 2,691 million euro advance payment of PAC 2026 agricultural aid
Spain has initiated the advance payment of direct aid from the 2026 Common Agricultural Policy (PAC), with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food transferring 2,691 million euros to autonomous communities through the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEAGA).
In the region of La Rioja, the government has already disbursed 11.26 million euros to 3,329 farmers and ranchers. This amount represents 75% of the direct aid included in the single application for the campaign. The funds are distributed among basic income for sustainability, redistributive payments, and support for young farmers.
The European Commission has granted flexibility to allow these advance payments to provide immediate liquidity to the sector, addressing the ongoing crisis caused by rising costs of fertilizers and agricultural inputs, as well as international market volatility.
