Spain boosts police force in Ciudad Real with 62 new officers

The Spanish government is adding 62 new National Police officers to the province of Ciudad Real, raising the provincial force to 465 officers – a 13% increase. The deployment began with 19 agents on a Friday and will continue through July, with the largest allocations to Ciudad Real (32 officers), Alcázar de San Juan (17), Puertollano (12) and Valdepeñas (1).

Subdelegate David Broceño highlighted the reinforcement as evidence of the government's commitment to public safety and noted that the larger staffing will support the creation of a new Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR) in Ciudad Real, slated to be operational before the end of the year. The move is framed as a step toward greater police presence, prevention, and response capacity for the local community.
