Spain boosts wastewater reuse with new treatment facilities in Sagunto and Galicia

The Valencian government announced a €50 million wastewater treatment plant in Sagunto that will supply reclaimed water to industrial projects such as Power Co‑Parc Sagunt and to local agriculture, supporting the region’s III Water Sanitation and Reuse Plan.

In Galicia, the municipal water authority completed a €2.7 million collector link between the Suevos interceptor and the Bens wastewater treatment station, improving network capacity and preventing overflows during heavy rain. Funding came from regional, municipal and port authorities. Both projects aim to increase water reuse, strengthen resilience of water supply and protect the environment.
