Spain celebrates cultural heritage through regional and national events
Spain is preparing for various heritage celebrations, including the tenth edition of the European Heritage Days in Gipuzkoa and the ninth edition of ‘Las Noches del Patrimonio’.
In Gipuzkoa, the program will run from September to November, featuring 157 events across 36 municipalities. Under the theme ‘Gure eskuetan. El patrimonio en nuestras manos’, the initiative focuses on cultural heritage at risk and methods for its protection and transmission. Activities include guided visits, workshops, exhibitions, and concerts, such as a performance featuring historical albokas.
Simultaneously, the public hotel chain Paradores de Turismo will participate in ‘Las Noches del Patrimonio’ on September 11 and 12. The company has organized cultural and gastronomic experiences in 12 locations recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Cities, including Alcalá de Henares, Ávila, Córdoba, Segovia, and Toledo. Offerings include guided tours of historic palaces, musical performances, and specialized menus designed to highlight the historical value of the sites.
