Spain celebrates sixth edition of ‘Ellas Cuentan’ initiative

The sixth edition of ‘Ellas Cuentan’ has been launched by Malasmadres and Cinfa to highlight the personal experiences of women living with illnesses, functional diversity, or those caring for children with special needs. Since its inception in 2021, the initiative has collected approximately 1,200 testimonies from women across Spain.

This year, the program recognizes four women for their courage in sharing their stories. Among the honorees is Estefanía Felipe, who lives with tetraplegia following a childhood traffic accident, and Lucía Hernández, who was born with Treacher Collins syndrome. The initiative aims to provide visibility to stories often lived in silence, fostering a sense of companionship and recognition among women facing similar challenges.
