Spain Classic Raid hosts record number of vintage vehicles
The XII edition of the Spain Classic Raid is underway, featuring a regularity competition for vintage vehicles manufactured before December 31, 1999. The event spans over 2,000 kilometers across eight stages, traveling from Gijón to Zaragoza between October 17 and October 24.
Carbajosa will serve as a major hub for the event, hosting the departure of the third stage on Monday, October 19. This stage marks a record-breaking turnout for the competition, with 170 teams registered. The diverse lineup includes 25 different brands, such as Mercedes-Benz, Fiat, Toyota, and Renault, as well as a 1956 Jeep Willys Pick-up, which is the oldest vehicle participating.
The rally focuses on precision and regularity rather than speed, navigating various terrains including dirt, sand, and mud. The route includes stops in León, Salamanca, Ávila, Palencia, Soria, Logroño, and Jaca.
