Spain commemorates 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla
Various cultural events are being held in Spain to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of composer Manuel de Falla.
In Cádiz, artist Teo Vázquez is organizing an outdoor exhibition titled ‘Nuestros embajadores’. The project features large-format photographic works integrated into the windows of five buildings across the city, including locations on Calle Hospital de Mujeres, Calle San José, and Plaza de San Antonio. The exhibition aims to create a dialogue between Falla’s life and the city’s architecture, making the urban landscape an open gallery.
In Albacete, the Quinteto Collis Musicae performed a tribute titled ‘Raíces’ at the Diputación de Albacete stand during the local fair. The performance, which coincided with the 75th anniversary of the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Música y Danza, combined music, voice, dance, and narration. The ensemble included musicians María Elena Calonge, Francisco Gil, José Miguel Soria, Juan Luis Real, and Emilio Carrilero, alongside soprano Paloma Gallego, dancer Andrea Álvarez, and musicologist Fátima Martín.
