Spain considers purchasing 15 additional Hürjet aircraft
Spain is considering an expansion of its order for the Hürjet advanced training aircraft, according to Mehmet Demiroğlu, CEO of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI). While Spain has already signed an agreement for 30 aircraft to replace the F-5 fleet of the Spanish Air and Space Force, the potential addition of 15 more units would bring the total fleet to 45 aircraft.
Demiroğlu noted that work is currently underway to facilitate deliveries starting in 2028. Although the possibility of a larger fleet has been discussed in previous programs, these recent statements highlight a potential increase in the current supply agreement. The specific economic conditions and the official status of these additional negotiations have not yet been confirmed.
