Spain defender Pedro Porro says no favorite in World Cup 2026 semifinal against France

Spain right‑back Pedro Porro, 26, said the World Cup 2026 semifinal against France in Dallas “has no favorite” because both sides are “two great selections”. He added that the match will be “very beautiful and very difficult” and that France is “one of the best teams of this World Cup”. Porro explained that the team’s travel schedule – “we fly thousands of kilometres more than they do” – does not affect their preparation, noting they have recovered and are fully focused.

He recalled watching Spain’s 2010 victory as a child and said playing a World Cup semifinal would be “another dream fulfilled”. Porro praised coach Luis de la Fuente for creating a family atmosphere and praised teammate Lamine Yamal’s talent. Fellow winger Alex Baena echoed the sentiment, calling the encounter “the best two national teams” and expressing confidence that Spain can control possession and limit French attacks.

All three players stressed motivation and readiness ahead of the match scheduled at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
