Spain deploys 158 police trainees to Alicante and Albacete provinces

The Spanish National Police placed a total of 158 trainee officers in two provinces to reinforce summer security. In Alicante, 152 trainees from the 41st Basic Scale promotion were assigned to seven police stations—Alicante (48), Benidorm (32), Elche (40), among others—after a presentation attended by the sub‑delegate of the Government, Manuel Pineda, and provincial police chief Manuel Lafuente. Their one‑year practical training will support operations such as "Turismo Seguro" and the "Operation Summer" patrols during the busy tourist season.

In Albacete, six trainees began a 12‑month posting at the provincial police headquarters after a ceremony with sub‑delegate Miguel Juan Espinosa and chief commissioner Antonio José López‑Alcahut. The officers will complete theoretical training received at the National Police School in Ávila and work under veteran mentors, aiming to strengthen both the National Police and the Civil Guard in the province.

Both events were highlighted by officials as examples of improving citizen safety and adapting police resources to current needs during the high‑traffic summer months.
