Spain detains two illegal immigrants in separate criminal cases over assault and labor abuse

In Fuenlabrada, a businessman reported the theft of €18,000 from his rural house and was subsequently arrested by the Policía Nacional. Prosecutors allege he kept the employee without a contract, forced up to 15‑hour workdays and forced the worker to live in a corral with livestock. The owner faces a prison term of two years and three months to six years, plus possible fines ranging from €360 to €144,000.

In Valencia, 26‑year‑old Algerian illegal immigrant Said Leksili, who uses multiple false identities, was placed in pre‑trial detention after violently assaulting a neighbour, leaving the victim in a coma. Leksili has 18 prior police records, half for violent offences, and an unresolved expulsion order dating back to his illegal entry in 2020. He now faces a prison sentence of one to three years for the assault.
