Spain dominates 2026 Ballon d'Or coach nominations

Nominations for the 2026 Ballon d'Or awards have been announced, with Spanish coaches dominating the men's Coach of the Year category. The nominees include Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Luis de la Fuente (Spain), Unai Emery (Aston Villa), and Luis Enrique (Paris Saint-Germain). The only non-Spanish nominee is Vincent Kompany of Bayern Munich.

In the women's category, nominations are split between Spain and Sweden, with representatives Pere Romeu (FC Barcelona) and Jonatan Giráldez (OL Lyonnes) for Spain, Andrée Jeglertz (Manchester City) and Elena Sadiku (BK Häcken) for Sweden, and Nils Nielsen (Japan) also included.

Club nominations have also been revealed. For the men's best club, the nominees are Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bodo/Glimt, Flamengo, and PSG. The women's best club nominees include FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Club America, Manchester City, and OL Lyonnes. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in London on October 26.
