Spain drives sustainable packaging expansion in agriculture and cosmetics
South African container maker MPact Plastic Containers is targeting €676 million in sales by 2025 and is expanding its European footprint, with Spain identified as a key market. The company plans new logistics hubs in Murcia, Valencia and Alicante, promotes polypropylene‑based reusable crates for fruit and vegetable transport, and emphasizes rapid stock availability that can deliver products within 24 hours.
In parallel, L’Oréal Group marked World Refill Day on 16 June with its #ÚneteAlMovimientoRefill campaign in Madrid. Industry leaders discussed refillable formats for perfumes, skincare and hair products, stressing that Spain, the world’s second‑largest perfume exporter, has a strategic role in reducing packaging waste. The initiative aims to make refilling the norm rather than an exception, positioning sustainable packaging as a core consumer demand across sectors.
