Spain expands affordable rental housing across Madrid and Zaragoza
Various Spanish regions and entities are expanding affordable rental housing inventories through new developments and public programs.
In Madrid, Avintia Inmobiliaria is promoting 156 affordable rental homes in Las Rozas specifically for residents under 35. The project features various apartment sizes, sustainable design aiming for BREEAM Very Good certification, and amenities such as coworking spaces and a gym.
In Zaragoza, the Government of Aragon has authorized works for 1,136 affordable public rental homes. These projects, conducted in collaboration with the Zaragoza City Council, will be distributed across several neighborhoods, including Miralbueno and Rosales del Canal.
Meanwhile, EMVS Madrid reports that its affordable rental housing assets have grown by 60% since 2019, now totaling over 10,000 homes. The municipal company is also advancing the Plan Suma Vivienda and the construction of approximately 770 industrialized homes to increase supply and reduce environmental impact.
