Spain expands bike‑sharing services in Burgos and Bilbao

Aduriz Energía has launched "Aduriz en Bici", a loan service for electric mountain bikes in Medina de Pomar, Burgos. The scheme, supported by ITCL Centro Tecnológico, lets adults register via a mobile app to rent e‑bikes for exploring the Merindades region, targeting tourists, second‑home owners and local residents. CEO Ángel Martínez said the service aims to promote sustainable interior tourism and provide convenient access to the area’s natural trails.

In Bilbao, the municipal bike system Bilbaobizi will remain operational during the Aste Nagusia festival from 22 to 30 August after a citizen request. Councilor Nora Abete highlighted the decision as part of the city’s push for sustainable mobility, noting the recent deployment of 20 new docking stations and a strategic plan to raise the fleet to 1,250 bicycles by 2030.
