Spain expands cultural support with Huelva painting salon and €400 youth voucher

The Huelva City Council announced the rules for the 29th Salón de Otoño de Pintura, opening online registrations from 27 July to 20 August 2026. The competition, open to Spanish and foreign artists aged 18 or over, offers a total prize fund of €9,000 (€6,000 for first prize, €3,000 for second) and will culminate in a collective exhibition from 14 to 24 October 2026. Applicants must submit a digital form, ID copy, CV and a photo of the work; a jury will pre‑select entries before a physical presentation of finalists.

The Spanish Ministry of Culture also opened applications for the Bono Cultural Joven 2026, a €400 pre‑paid voucher for young people born in 2008. The scheme, funded with €170 million, runs until 31 October 2026 and requires digital identification via the Cl@ve system or a digital certificate. Recipients choose one of two spending modes – “Crea Cultura” (all €400 for artistic training and materials) or “Descubre Cultura” (split across live events, physical products and digital subscriptions). Eligibility includes Spanish citizens, legal residents, asylum seekers and other protected groups. The voucher is issued on a virtual prepaid card valid for 12 months.
