Electric mobility expands in Mexico and Spain
Electric mobility is seeing significant developments in Mexico and Spain. In Querétaro, Mexico, the free electric transport service Eqrobus has surpassed 35,600 rides since its September 11 launch. The service currently operates two routes (CH1 and CH2) with 10 units, and plans to expand with a third route (CH3) using larger 30-passenger buses.
In Spain, the electric vehicle charging network is expanding. The Spanish company Cargea has launched an app providing access to nearly two million charging points across 26 European countries, allowing users to locate, activate, and pay for charging through a single account. Additionally, MSI has introduced two new electric vehicle chargers in Spain, the EZwall and EZgo.
Data from AEDIVE indicates that Spain's public charging network grew by 6.74% compared to the end of 2025, reaching 53,373 active points. Notably, high-power charging infrastructure is growing faster than the overall network, with ultra-fast chargers (over 350 kW) increasing by 23.32% and chargers between 150-350 kW rising by 27.6%.
In Mexico, the electric mobility market is advancing with over 235,000 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in circulation. While user satisfaction remains high at 95%, challenges regarding regulation and technical knowledge persist.
