Spain expands free TV with DIGI VOD launch and new TDT channel
Spanish telecom operator DIGI announced a free video‑on‑demand (VOD) service that will be available across Spain from early 2025. The catalog initially offers more than 2,000 titles from providers such as Canal Hollywood, AMC, Comedy Central, MTV, BBC Player, and others, with a goal of reaching 10,000 titles in the coming weeks. The service can be accessed on Android‑based set‑top boxes, televisions, smartphones and tablets, and will be rolled out gradually to additional devices.
At the same time, a new free-to‑air channel is set to launch on Spain’s digital terrestrial television (TDT) platform. The channel will be available without any subscription or special equipment, adding thematic programming—potentially movies, documentaries and cultural shows—to the existing free TV lineup and widening viewing options for households that rely on the TDT service.
