Spain expands summer bus services to Tazones and Tenerife coasts
The municipality of Villaviciosa in Asturias asked the regional government to increase the frequency of the shuttle bus that links the town with the coastal village of Tazones. Mayor Alejandro Vega said demand has grown since the service began a year ago and requested multiple daily trips to reduce car traffic. The regional transport director said the request is under study and that a summer plan already includes 36 routes across Asturias.
In the Canary Islands, the council of La Laguna and the island’s inter‑urban transport operator (Titsa) added four extra journeys on line 224 to the beaches of La Barrancera and Jóver. The increase, funded by an additional bus and driver, aims to meet higher summer demand, improve accessibility and lessen private‑car use on the coast.
