Spain expands youth cultural subsidy for 2008 births

The Spanish Ministry of Culture is conducting the fifth edition of the 'Bono Cultural Joven' program, providing 400 euros to young people born in 2008 who are turning 18 this year. More than 300,000 individuals have already applied, representing over half of the 561,459 eligible citizens nationwide.

This year's edition introduces expanded usage options. In addition to traditional uses such as cinema tickets, concerts, books, and digital subscriptions, beneficiaries can now use the funds for musical instruments, artistic creation materials, and cultural training courses or workshops.

Applicants can choose to distribute the funds across different categories or dedicate the full 400 euros to a single category, such as training or musical instruments. The application period remains open until October 31. Once granted, beneficiaries have one year to spend the funds at nearly 4,000 participating entities across Spain.
