Spain regional authorities deploy rural development funds
Various regional governments and provincial authorities in Spain are implementing significant investment programs to support rural development and generational renewal.
In Castilla y León, the Ministry of Agriculture has approved a new batch of 20.85 million euros to assist 263 young farmers and livestock breeders, alongside 87 improvement plans. This initiative aims to accelerate generational replacement, with León emerging as a leader in the number of approved files. Total aid granted for these programs has reached 68.98 million euros.
In Albacete, the Provincial Government has authorized over 919,000 euros for 18 municipalities through the ‘Dipualba Responde – Inversiones 2026’ program. These funds support 28 projects, including technological security in Tobarra, sports infrastructure in Madrigueras, and water quality improvements in Higueruela.
Additionally, in Castilla-La Mancha, the execution period for 40 million euros in investments for municipalities near the Entrepeñas and Buendía reservoirs has been extended by two years. This regulatory change, published in the Official State Gazette, allows for a total execution window of up to four years to ensure the completion of essential socio-economic and tourism infrastructure.
