Spain extends shared management of Intermares vessel until 2030
The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Ministry of Defense have signed a new addendum to extend the shared management and operation of the Training and Fishery Cooperation Vessel (BECP) Intermares. The agreement, which remains in effect until August 30, 2030, continues a collaborative model established in 2018 and 2022.
This partnership allows both ministries to utilize the vessel's specialized infrastructure throughout the year to meet their respective needs. The Intermares vessel serves critical functions in maritime-fishery training and cooperation, providing a controlled environment for professionals to develop practical skills. These activities are designed to support the sector's generational renewal and the integration of new workers into the fishing industry.
