Spain fan discovers cancer following 2026 World Cup final

Jose Antonio Suarez, a fan from A Coruña, Spain, discovered he had cancer following an intense celebration of Spain’s winning goal in the 2026 World Cup final against Argentina.

After Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute to secure Spain’s victory, Suarez experienced a loss of voice. Initially dismissing the symptom, he eventually sought medical attention at his son’s urging. Doctors identified a tumor on his left vocal cord.

Suarez underwent successful surgery performed by Dr. Juan Carlos Vazquez Barro and has since reported that his health has stabilized.
