Spain highlights historical sites in Huelva and Leon

Spain offers various historical and cultural destinations for autumn travel, including the village of Castaño del Robledo in the Huelva province of Andalusia. Located within the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche Natural Park, this small municipality is known for its traditional architecture, chestnut production, and the ‘Callejón de las Brujas’ (Witches' Alley), a narrow passage associated with local legends.

In the region of Leon, the Templar Castle of Ponferrada serves as a significant historical site. Dating back to the 12th century when the Templars established themselves in the area, the fortress remains well-preserved. Visitors can explore its towers, courtyards, and ancient rooms, which offer insight into medieval life and are accompanied by local legends of secret tunnels and hidden treasures.
