Madrid to host Eurobasket 2029 following 2.4 million euro agreement

Madrid has approved a 2.42 million euro collaboration agreement with the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) to host group stages and the final phase of Eurobasket 2029. The investment, distributed between 2026 and 2029, aims to promote the sport through various activities, including annual preparation matches for the Spanish national teams and the establishment of the FEB Museum in the capital.

Across Spain, various basketball events are underway. The CaixaBank 3x3 Circuit is hosting stops in Cáceres and Albacete, bringing urban, inclusive, and free basketball to public squares for hundreds of young players. In Valladolid, a veterans' tournament is scheduled to reunite former players, while in Cádiz, the Copa Diputación is featuring clubs from the Tercera FEB level.

These initiatives reflect a broader effort to promote basketball at both elite and grassroots levels through regional tournaments, street basketball circuits, and commemorative events.
