Spain implements heavy vehicle circulation restrictions
Heavy goods vehicle circulation restrictions are in effect across Spain for the second half of October 2026. Following a holiday weekend, restrictions under the DGT are being reduced to a minimum.
Specific prohibitions apply to special transport, dangerous goods (requiring ADR orange signaling panels), and vehicles requiring complementary authorization. On Sunday, October 18, from 3:00 PM to midnight, these restrictions will apply throughout the DGT-controlled national territory.
Regional authorities in Catalonia, the Basque Country, and Navarre maintain their own independent traffic competencies and apply their own specific restrictions. In Catalonia, permanent restrictions apply to vehicles or combinations exceeding 26 tons on several routes, including the N-II, N-240, and N-340. In other areas, specific road segments such as the N-340 and N-124 face limitations for vehicles with more than 7.5 tons, with certain exceptions for local traffic in Haro.
